Toolbar reverts to original state (solved)
« on: 2015 December 14 10:13:14 »
Hi,

since the recent update, the toolbar always reverts to it´s original state. Customizing the toolbar and closing the app even without opening anything does not help.
Favorites in the process explorer are OK.

System: Mac OS 10.10.5
PI: PixInsight Core 01.08.04.1193 Ripley (x64)

I cannot reproduce this on OS X 10.10.5 and 10.11.1. The state of tool bars is always stored when the application terminates, and restored without problems the next time it is executed. Also works without problems on Linux and Windows 8.1/10.

PixInsight settings are stored on $HOME/Library/PixInsight/PixInsight.plist on OS X. Are you running any utility that could be preventing changes to this file?

Juan,
really fast reply.
At this location I have two pref files:
PixInsight.plist
PixInsight64.plist

Should I trash one or both of them?

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

PixInsight64.plist is the configuration file for version 1.8.3 and older, so you can safely remove it. PixInsight.plist is the current file for version 1.8.4 and newer. If you delete it, you'll lose all your preferences settings. By doing that you can perform a full reset of settings to factory defaults if that's what you want.

Hi,

just trashed both of the pref files and all is working well again: PixInsight remembers my favorite toolbar again!

Thank you for your support and best wishes from Austria,

Andreas

ignore me, just capturing posted fix to make sure I don't have an old pref file on my system.
Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?
