Asteroid 2015TB145
« on: 2015 October 31 03:21:49 »
Good day,
I managed to take about 75 x 60sec frames of the area where the asteroid is was passing, I can see it as a small 'streep' for example in this screenshot of a single frame:

The problem is that it is very faint, and when I integrate and stack the frames, instead of forming a nice line, it just disappear :(
Can anyone suggest a setting to stack without having this faint signal disappear?

Avoid pixel rejection algorithms. As the asteroid doesn't appear in  all frames it will be rejected. Average and median will make it dimmer, but you can still have the data. A maximum approach will show it nicely, among a lot of noise.

Other solution is integrate the images with pixel rejection algorithm to get a good background and the "paste" the asteroid's streak on it.

Have fun!

As for now I have tried lots of different variations, but I cannot get the asteroid streak  to show up.....
