Be careful with the new benchmark results.  The machine tested for build 1185 is not in the list for build 1171; however, it is in the list for build 1123.  The improvement from build 1123 to build 1185 is 1.28% (i.e. 14112 to 14292).  Any improvement is a good thing though.

I can't remember in the 2 1/2 years of using PixInsight on my same Windows 7 64 computer that PI locked up to where I would have to exit the program via the task manager.

True for me as well. I typically register from 100 to 200 subs from an 8300 based camera and it did not do anything like this until the most recent version. Sometimes it does clear after a wait but the last time (158 subs) it did not. In my case it is W 7 64, Haswell i7 with 16 gigs and the images were coming and going to a Sata 3 SSD with lots of room.

OTOH, it is my main machine so there are other things running in background. Of course, the machine has not changed and it still had most of the same other stuff running on it with the older PI versions that did not have the issue.

Are you using the latest version? This bug was fixed weeks ago in build 1185 of the core application.

Juan

Thanks so much for the hard work. I had not run my 265 image test since updating to 1185 till just now. The alignment finished within 2 minutes of my original time at 117 minutes. http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=8857.msg57376#msg57376 There was absolutely no lag or gui freeze after the last image was completed. I ran the test twice with exactly the same result. Fantastic.
