I just picked up a Canon T6i/750D. It's cloudy so I set out to start building master calibration frames.
I shot and integrated bias frames and ended up with a pink frame that had no banding noise or anything. I thought this was very peculiar, so I re-checked my parameters... all looked right, and then decided to open up a RAW file to see what it looked like.
A single RAW image also looks the same... its just a pink file without any noise. Next I opened a debayered version of the file to see what that would look like... still the same. A pink file.
These should all look black and upon stretching should show the noise.
When I open the RAW file in LR or PS it displays as a black image, and upon stretching starts to show the banding noise as expected....
Any ideas about this?
Attached is a screen shot of a RAW file. Bias image. Shot in the dark with lens cap on. ISO 1600. 1/4000 second. No STF or HT applied.
What am I missing here???
