Process icons
« on: 2015 June 20 12:27:36 »
Group,

When I load the chronological process icons the workspace size seems to change and the icons are not in view. If I open an image and then scroll to the icons the image is not in view. What setting do I adjust to correct this. I have tried adjusting the overall size of PI but that does not help.

Also, what is the significance of the orange vertical line on the right side of the workspace? I have tried to adjust it to no avail.

Hi Frank,

when you auto-resize all the windows in your workspace, they will not cross the orange line. so keeping process icons to the right of that line is a way to make sure they are not obscured by windows.

i am not sure i understand your first question, but it is possible for PI's workspace to be bigger than your monitor. when something (a process icon or a window) lies outside the 'viewport' that your monitor represents, scroll bars should appear immediately inside the PI main window which you can use to hunt around for those process icons.

Rob,

Thanks for the info! You are on the right track. When I load the process icons the work space resizes and the scroll bars appear. The icons are off screen to the right. I would like to have my image and the icons on the single screen but perhaps that is just a constraint of a small screen (laptop).

Hi Frank!
move the orange to left (2/3)
Select the Windows Tab
  Cascade Windows/FitImages

Select again the Windows Tab
  Arrange Icons

This brings all Images to the left of the orange line
and all Process Icons to the top right of your window.

Frank, I wondered when you used the term 'Chronological', if you were talking about the icon set we created and give away with our IP4AP.com tutorials? If so, these were placed on my 1920 ppi screen and saved for clients. Check the bottom of PI- does a scroll bar appear? If so, your monitor is smaller than mine- that's all! Drag the scroll bar over till they appear, drag and drop the icons so they appear in your workspace at your resolution, arrange them as you like, then resave them. Next time they'll open customized for your screen size.
Best always, Warren
