Mask Visualization Issue
« on: 2015 March 18 16:40:37 »
Hi all,
I am having an issue with the appearance of applied masks to linear images. Please see the attachment. The masked image in the foreground displays my desired violet overlay rendering mode just fine. This works for nonlinear images and for linear chrominance after combination.

Whenever working with linear mono images as in the background image however, they won't visualize in color. The visualization disappears in a few color selections such as red, but always displays grayscale, and as you can see, make it very difficult to see what is masked in a color.

It is not related to Mask overlay rendering mode settings in Global Preferences.

Any ideas? Thanks all!

Can't reproduce it. Just opened a mono raw ccd image, and everything works fine. I change the mask appearance through the main menu, and everything works fine. All colors and modes.

Thanks Carlos. Good for you, bad for me. I guess it's time to try a reinstall. Hoping it's not some weird incompatibility with my video card. I'll let you know how it goes. Awfully odd that it happens with single mono linear images, yet it's OK after a linear ChannelCombination. Thanks again.

Hi Warren before reinstallation you can try in a second instance and if it works maybe it is enough if you reset PixInsight.

Saludos, Alejandro.
