XISF File Format - First Draft Specification
« on: 2014 December 21 12:10:49 »
Hi all,

A first draft specification document for the Extensible Image Serialization Format (XISF) is now available online:

http://pixinsight.com/doc/docs/XISF-1.0-spec/XISF-1.0-spec.html

We welcome any suggestions and constructive criticism.

Keep in mind that this is a draft document. It surely contains errors and can be improved in many aspects, so we really need your help. The XISF project is open to the contributions of all PixInsight users as well as users of other applications, software developers, and in general all the people interested in image processing.

We would like to achieve a first official XISF specification, along with a reference implementation, during the first quarter of 2015.

Edit: The PIDoc source code of this specification document is also available online:

http://pixinsight.com/doc/docs/XISF-1.0-spec/src/

Thank you in advance. Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2015 to everyone!

The XISF specification draft document is from now on hosted by a dedicated GitHub repository:

https://github.com/PixInsight/XISF-specification

This repository maintains the latest version of the specification document in PIDoc format. You can track changes very easily almost in real time as we make them.

Hello,

I have prepared comments in this document:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1S4g_Tcu_UXreuOAWuxRdIAp2R5K8fOQZor9nyyNCLWI&authuser=0

It should be readable by anybody interested.  Sorry I did not find a more convenient and time effective way (for me) to share my review.
