Trouble with integration
« on: 2014 September 10 17:01:14 »
Hello all, I got some weird results using the batch pre-processing script and I can't seem to figure out why.  The pixel rejection maps for the resulting master light frame show a lot of artifacts that look like what you would get if you took a long exposure during a windy night.  I can assure you none of the lights I took have this issue, so I can't figure out where this is coming from.  I have attached the low-rejection map, which has been stretched.  Has anyone else had this problem or have a guess as to what is going on?  Thanks!

-Joe

Hi Joe, I Think that if you open blink tool and load your _c_d_r.fit files you will see  hot pixels not completely subtracted moving through the image.
If they are in rejection map means that the rejection algorithm in image integration worked well and your image is clean.
Saludos, Alejandro.

Hello Joe

I agree with Alejandro, they seem to be rejected hot pixels.
The reason they appear to be in a line, is because you probably didnt do dithering between shots, and there seems to bee a small amout of drift between shots.

Ah yes, that makes sense, I should have been able to figure that out, haha.  Thanks!
