Star halos appear after integration
« on: 2014 May 23 16:26:49 »
This is occurring for only the binned color channels. I register all images binned and unbinned with an unbinned luminance reference, then integrate each channel separately. It doesn't seem to matter what algorithm I use. I have a large number of subs (30+) for each channel.
Any troubleshooting ideas?
Thanks
Dave

Screen your source images with Blink. Maybe there developed dew on the lens, or there were some weak clouds.

Can you post a sample of the image?

Hmmm. I think I see the problem. The binned data is not good. When the binned data is upscaled, the problem stars only get worse. May not be a fix for this. Anyway, here is the red channel fits file which is result of integration of all red subs:

Here is a single red sub.

If there is a way to salvage it let me know
Thanks
