Setting Default TIFF Settings

Seems I read somewhere about being able to set default image settings and was wondering if that's possible for TIFF. I want to set a default for 16 bit unsigned and thought I could do that under Global Preferences but can't find where. I didn't see anything under Format Explorer as far as being able to set a default.

You can't set the write bit deph on the preferences. Just mostly open preferences.
