I can't get star align to align stars!
« on: 2014 March 14 02:29:32 »
I have a number of unaligned subs (I think I left the mount on Lunar Tracking rate - doh!) but I'm sure I should be able to align them using the Star Align Process in Pixinsight? Thing is when I run the process it all works fine except the output is a file that look positionally identical to the original rather than being transposed to the position of the reference frame as the documentation suggest it should be

I have the working mode as register/match images and I've tried it with both frame adaptation ticked and unticked and I get the same results. Anyone got any ideas or pointers to get my subs aligned before I combime them

Thanks
Russ

It may help if you post the relevant par of the log.

if the tracking rate was wrong there's a good chance the stars are not really round… which makes them harder to detect as stars.

if you post 2 subs or the logs maybe someone can take a look.
