Hey Folks,
I was just reading about the SN discovered in late January in M82 and thought to myself, wait a minute, I imaged that around that time! I was actually cramming both M81 and M82 into the same frame and hadn't really focused on the galaxy interiors other than to get the colors right. But then I went back and blew up M82 and, sure enough, there it was. This image was taken over two nights on January 31-Feb. 1, about 10 days after the SN was discovered in England:

You just never know what you are going to find out there
Best,
Jim

Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?

Nice!
I took a one-shot color image as one of my first images testing out iTelescope. It happened to be M82 and a friend pointed out that the nova was visible in the image.
