Hotpixel - artefacts
« on: 2014 February 18 08:10:40 »
Hi,
I have a question aboiut hotpixel-removing or CosmicCorrection : I have a 9 Lights (1200sek Ha ) with fitting flats and darks. When I use the CosmicCorrection-script ( or not ), I get bad artefacts like this :

I tried out with CosmicCorrection via masterdark and autodetect ( alternate without this function )

Is there a way to get out ?

Thanks a lot

Gerhard

this is not really an answer to your question, but if you use a rejection algorithm in ImageIntegration you can probably clean up those hot pixels that way.

Hi

It seems you not removing many ( or none ) of the hot pixels  >:(

I presume you are using CC on each sub , not the stack ?  if so your darks do not match your lights and you need some new ones

Upload the problem files for me to look at if you like

This may be a combination of problems: for example applying darks not matching and using no pixel rejection on integration.

Prevention is better than cure.  This is most likely caused by flexure between your guide cam and imaging cam.  You need to find the source of that.  Once you minimise the flexure, and if you dither between taking subs it should make it easier to reject them.

What CosCorrection settings were you using?
