CatalogStarGenerator does not work in PI 1.8
« on: 2013 May 24 03:01:57 »
I have successfully used the CatalogStarGenerator in an earlier version of PI (as of May 6, 2013).
Current attempts deliver empty results ("no stars painted").

Hi,
I got the same behaviour whenever I use parameters out of norms (Ex: Resolution more than 14"/px).
I would like to make a trivia type of script where one would identify the constellation present into a given picture. This requires to generate images at approximately 12-15mm focal length over an APS-C sensor.
Were there a specific issue with this script? how was it solved? I am using the script with PI Core version 01.08.01.1087 64 bits on a Windows 7, core duo2 machine.
Thanks for your help,
Yanick

For wide fields you should use the catalog "Bright stars" and a moderate magnitude (i.e. 8).
