basic question about alignment orientation
« on: 2014 February 03 15:39:49 »
Hi

Apologies if this question has been asked before, I wasn't sure what the keyword to search for was

Here is an integration of some robotic scope images  I took in Ha, I have other narrowband images that I combine to make a colour image
However, as you can see there is a skewing of the image, I assume because the orientation of the images differed significantly ( regardless of how  that happened ).

So my question is, by using batch processing is there a way of identifying the images with the largest deviation from average such that I don't get this rotation effect and thus have to crop

I did use the subframe selector in Ripley 1087 but I used largely default parameters

Perhaps use the Blink module: Process>ImageInspection>Blink

Hi Geoff

If I understand you correctly, you mean cross referencing each image manually. I suppose that may work but I was looking for an automated method as I have 174 subs and probably growing so it may be time consuming. (thinking about the problem now, it does seem more of a challenge than I initially thought - i.e. what is the correct orientation)
