Debayer for ccd using Secondary (CGYM) color pattern
« on: 2013 October 16 10:40:27 »
Hi,

Just starting to use PI.  I did use AstroArt, DSS, StarTools, and Photoshop in the past for my OSC image.

SX Lodestar color and Meade DSI II both use the CGYM instead of the RGB filter bayer pattern.  I have searched quite a bit but could not find a existing method under PI to debayer such image.

I would appreciate any help that can point me to the right direction.  I read some post in Mead DSI forum that one can write their own debayer routine.  Hopefully I don't have to spend precious imaging time to do that. :)

Thanks a lot for the help!

BTW, I am so eager to try out PI to compare with other results I got from StarTools.  However, without the 1st step to debayer data, I am not able to move at all.  :(

So really thanks to know if it can be done with PI.

I dont know if it helps: Try Script/Batchprocessing/Batch CMYG Debayer.

Georg:  Thanks a lot for the hint.  Yes, that was the script written by the poster at DSI forum.  I tried quite a bit combination.  Still the color was wrong and there was a "blind pattern" on the resulting image.

So I guess that was user contributed script that was integrated into PI later.  Ultimately, one can also write one work for LodestarC?

if the frames are in fits format try reversing the fits reader direction (format explorer, double click "fits", change bottom-up to up-bottom (or vice versa) and try again...

Or maybe you need to mirror/rotate the images before debayering. If you know how to read Javascript, you can also have a look into the script to see what bayer pattern it expects.

Thanks for all the inputs.  I have tried to flip the image before debayer or change the read order.  Still no go yet.

Here is the spec for my cam

and one test image

Maybe someone can help with these info.

Thanks!
