Unable to d/l repository info error.. trial version
« on: 2013 August 07 11:07:15 »
Hi all
I got my 45 day trial license key yesterday. Downloaded the windows x 64 bit version and installed fine.
But after putting in all my pass codes I got an error message : Unable to download repository information .. Click for details.
Details: https://pixinsight.com/update : Network error : Schannel : failed to setup extended errors.

I have no clue what that means. I closed the program and re-launched several times and get the same error.
Not sure what this error would do and I didn't want to start playing with the program and have a problem after working on an image.
Any help fixing this would be appreciated!

I downloaded
Pixinsight Core Version 1.8 Ripley
Version 01.08.00.1015 Ripley (x64) RC7

You should be using the user id and password for the "software distribution center".

I believe that is what I did..
I used the username and password sent by email to get on the server and download the program.. that worked fine
Then I installed the program.. fine..
Then when I launched the program I entered the user identifier and activation code sent by email..
After that I got the error message..
