1.8RC7 crash
« on: 2013 June 01 09:17:23 »
Got a PCL Win32 Exception:
Access violation invalid memory write operation at address 40e (exception code C0000005).
I was trying to set a new preview window when this happened, although the new preview icon in the toolbar was grayed out.
Glad this didn't happen in the middle of a project.

P.S. When I restarted PI and tried to repeat the operations, it didn't reoccur but PI installed updates after starting up.  The version number afterwards was 8.00.1015 Riply (x64) RC7 but I don't know if it was a previous version at the time of the crash.

Make that 'crashes'.  I had another memory violation simply closing an image that had been on the workspace for a day or two.  With all the crashes I'm having and the fact that two of my most-used scripts, Subframe Selector and PFEstimator, are missing from v1.8RC7 I truly regret upgrading. This is clearly not a stable, mature version despite assurances that led me to finally do the upgrade.  Can I still remove it and reinstall v1.7? (I didn't see it available there).
