Hi all,
I have succeeded in installing PixInsight 1.8RC5 on a headless (virtualized) Ubuntu 12 machine which I access via ssh X11 forwarding from a MacBook Pro. This scenario is working better than expected and I can take advantage from fast CPUs and SAN disks in the virtualized environment.
However, during startup I get the message within PI's console:
** No running X11 compositing manager has been detected. Some core GUI functionality will be reduced or unavailable.
What exactly is reduced or not working. In my first short tests I discovered nothing unusual.
