M45, my first image completelly processed in Pixinsight. It is amazing, how much further I can  go in processing Pixinsight compared to previous software. Pixinsight gives me much smaller star discs over DSS, more detail and generally allows me the keep the image in higher resolution, and I do not need to downsample that much to hide negative side effects of processing.

Hi All,

I am a relatively newby to PixInsight but have been very impressed so far. I have been re-processing some of my old images and difference is amazing in some cases. I have previously used AstroArt and GIMP.

I have attached an image of the Triffid Nebula (M20) which I am very pleased at the result PI has given me.

The image was taken using a GSO 6" RC Astrograph on a HEQ5 mount with auto-guiding. The camera is a QHY-8 colour ccd camera driven with Nebulosity. Exposure time was 20 x 5 min and the location was Watson's Way, near Muckinbudin in Western Australia. All image processing was done in PI.

Regards Grant
