Apply process to several files & Average several files
« on: 2012 November 03 18:21:36 »
Hi!

My most sincere apologies if my questions are very basic. I couldn't find a way to do this even if I tried  ???

1) I'm building a lunar mosaic and I would like to apply the Atrouswavelet process (with X parameters) to hundreads of files, is there a way to do this?

2) For another project I have aligned several full-moon images taken with my DSLR and I would like to average them all, I can average with pixelmath but I don't want to have all the files opened in the workspace as the are many of them. Is there a way to select files and do an average ? Image integration seems to fail when there are no stars on the images. I wonder why as it could just do an average of the files without analyzing them ?

Thanks!
Luis

Hi Luis

Right click on the workspace>ImageContainer and select the files and complete the container options. Then drag the icon at the workspace and apply the process over the icon.

I can not help with this.

Saludos, Alejandro.

Hi.

Sorry for the late reply - just stumbled across this. I am currently experimenting with this, and may have something useful to you.

I have several batches of 10 images of a 6 segment near full moon. For each segment, if I use the script/utilities/fftregistration script, it will register the lunar segments reasonably well, and output relevant .fit files.

I am experimenting with using the standard ImageIntegration routines to combine these. The results are almost promising - I do get an integrated image output, but with 10 input images (per segment) the algorithms don't seem to be coping with seeing differences between frames very well at all.

I am hopeful that there will be a selection of options that are useful, but somehow not holding out much hope...

PS: I'm using PI 1.8-RC5 for this. Previous attempts with fftregistration script (circa PI-1.6 or so) weren't this successful.

Cheers -

Hi Luis!
ImageIntegration works fine without stars  - if you set noise estimation to - "dont care ".
I just integrated/averaged with ImageIntegration prozess my beach Images from the last vacation...
