Viewer on windows
« on: 2013 March 07 12:20:26 »
Hello,
Can somebody propose a good viewer to windows (7, compatibility 32 bits would be nice)? I know there are plenty of proposals on the web, but I probably have the same requirements as some of you.  Especially I am only interested in the viewer, must support ICC profiles, should display image in a full screen wit h neutral background, not resize the images if not asked for (I prepare them with PI) and allow a simple browsing in a list of file.

So far the best solution I found was to open the list of images in Firefox full screen mode and use the back/forward pages to navigate...

Most viewers give disastrous results on a high gamut display and have bright borders/menus/.... very  distracting for mostly black pictures.

And naturally I would prefer to to have to pay half the price of PI just to look at the images!

In PI, right click on the image>view in full screen,... only a wish for the wish list...

I did already add this t othe wish list.

Nevertheless it is annyoing to request a 64 bit environment, install PI and your own key, show the images, then delete the key and PI.... just to show some images in a club

Well, if I understand your requirements correctly, I think IrfanView http://www.irfanview.com/ with IrfanView Plugins http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm do know everything you mentioned, it is free and 32bit. I use it on a Dell U3011 display [117% (CIE1976) / 102% (CIE 1931), 98% (AdobeRGB Coverage), 100% (sRGB Coverage)] with definitely not disastrous results. Sorry, if you've already tried it, but if not IMHO it's worth to have a look.

IrfanView does support ICC profiles. You just have to enable color management in Options -> Properties/Settings -> Zoom/Color Management.
