Error opening FIT files from Hubble Legacy Archive

I am getting the following error every time:

PCL Unix Signal Handler: Critical signal catched (11): Segmentation violation

I have tried opening through menu, file explorer and drag and drop. I have also tried every setting I could think of the FIT format setting. When "How to proceed" is set to "always ask" I get a message that pixel values are from about -6e0 to 1.12e2 but even if I enter these values in the input range I still get the error.

I am running 1.8 RC3 on an iMac core duo running OSX 10.6.8

edit: I can open the files in FITS Liberator and convert them to TIFFs and then they open in PI but that's not really the workflow I would want.

This bug has already been reported (you?), and is now fixed in version 1.8.0 RC4, whose release is imminent.

Thanks for responding. It wasn't reported by me. I searched the forum but didn't see it. I eagerly await RC4!
