Bug in ImageIntegration [1.8 RC3 64bit]?
« on: 2013 February 07 00:44:34 »
I am not sure if this is a bug but as far as I remember from 1.7 the channel integration always reached 100% in the console output while with 1.8 RC3 (Win7 64bit 4GB Ram) I get something like:

* Integration channel 3 of 3:
Integrating pixel rows:       0 ->   805: 79%
Integrating pixel rows:   806 -> 1611: 79%
Integrating pixel rows: 1612 -> 2417: 80%
Integrating pixel rows: 2418 -> 3223: 79%
Integrating pixel rows: 3224 -> 3464: 76%

For all three channels I get varying results between 70-80%. I am integrating 20 images using winsorized sigma with  low=3 and high=4.

Do I misunderstand the output? Isn't it supposed to always reach 100%?

Regards,
Michael

I noticed the same today but I assumed it finished correctly.  I did note, however, that this integrating pixel rows took significantly longer than in 1.7.
Win 7 64 bit, i7 CPU with 16GB RAM + 16GB RAMDisk Cache.  1.8 RC3

Hi,

This is just a harmless cosmetic problem; the images are always integrated completely, irrespective of the percentages shown. It is just the progress monitoring information what fails. Of course this bug will be fixed in the upcoming version 1.8.0 RC4 of PixInsight.

I haven't seen this problem in our tests. Anyway, we have had some performance issues in RC3, which may also affect ImageIntegration. All of these problems are now completely fixed in PixInsight 1.8.0 RC4, which will be released in a few days. Besides much more stable and reliable, version1.8.0 RC4 is faster than PI 1.7 in all of our tests.

Thanks for the confirmation Juan. Good to know that it is only cosmetic.
