Are latest versions of Linux supported ?
« on: 2013 January 12 09:23:32 »
Hello,
The supported Linux installation mentioned in the requirements pages are:
  • Fedora 13, 14 and 15.
  • Ubuntu 10 and 11.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

Is is still the case for 1.8RC2 ?

More specifically I want to install a linux in VirtualBox on windows 7 64, mostly to test my scripts in a non Windows environment and to try to build the python module and other c++ modules.  Fedora current version is 17 and Ubuntu is 12 .
I do not absolutely want the latest version, but I would just like to be reasonably sure that I will not run in library compatibility issues if I use the latest, or that I do not have to upgrade next week if I use an older one.

Fedora17 seems to be ok both with 1.7 and 1.8RC1.
