pixinsight hubble pallet problem
« on: 2012 November 30 09:30:50 »
sorry to be a pain everyone ;)....i'm really struggling with pixinsight. i see the potential the software has.....been on youtube and seen some of the demos, and it looks rewarding and fun to use. ive been trying to do a hubble pallet, but with not much luck. ive viewed this spanish youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVitJNmjzkc, thinking that i could follow it step-by-step, but on the initial screen, it shows two hubble tabs that i don't recognize, and wondered if they are custom tools? ive done the pixel math stage. please do you know of any resources that can help? ive been told that some people have moved from PI to CS for this very reason.
cheers :)
bob

Which ones don't you recognize? Please write them. PI has evolved and some tools get renamed or/and get placed in new categories.
If you specify what seems to be missing from this video, one of us should be able to tell you where they have been relocated.
Thanks,

Hi Bob
I think that your are talking about those process icons that reads "HubblePalette"... well, they are PixelMath instances. I have not watched the video, but I think that somewhere they are explaining how they combine the exposures to make the palette (which is the equation used in PixelMath).
Anyway, I think that there was a post done by Juan where he showed many possible palettes, and how to do them with PixelMath.

PS: It is italian, not spanish ;)

You can create ProcessIcons with any process (tool) that you have. Just drag and drop the blue triangle at any process window to the workspace. Then, you may rename the process, to display a useful reference to the task you are performing. In this case, these icons represent PixelMath and CurvesTransform (you can tell by the icon figure). So, you just have to copy the equations (in PixelMath) and the control points (in CurvesTransform). I have not seeing the video, but I think that somewhere they double-click on them to open the respective process window, and show you the parameters.
