Batch Preprocessing DSLR Files
« on: 2012 December 01 08:36:30 »
Hi all,
I am quite new to digital AP in general.  I am imaging with my Canon 3Ti/600D (not mod'ed yet) and so far have been using DSS to calibrate/registter/integrate my files (B,D,F,L).  I am also very new to PI, but I am really liking it.  I would like to start using PI to do both my calibration/registration/integration as well as post processing.

After reading though many of the topics in "Tutorial and Processing Exaples", particularly the "DSLR_RAW work flow tools PI 1.6.x - 1.7.x - update" topic and gone through "Harry's video tutorials" (the Calibration video in praticular using the BatchPreProcessing script), I have managed to calibrate my files, I believe, quite successfuly.

My question at this point is "How do I evaluate the calibrated files to fine tune the calibration parameters?".  In particular the pixel rejection parameters.   I have attached a shot of my master calibrated dark.  This was created with the BatchPreprocessing script using 40-bias and 25 dark frames (360sec).

Do these pixel rejection maps seem reasonable?
How do I evaluate the results to fine tune?

If there are existing topics that discuss this, please let me know.
