New Astronomy Forum www.insideastronomy.com
« on: 2012 December 08 07:27:56 »
Hi Guys,

I just wanted to let you know that we have created a new astronomy forum at www.insideastronomy.com and your more than welcome to come over and join the fun of helping to fill a new form with content! ;D

As a big advocate of PI I'm looking for good image processing tips & tricks for PI for the forum. It not our intention to replace this PI forum! far from it, this is the right place for supporting the product, no, we just want to enhance the coverage and appeal of PI in Astrophotography in general.

Therefore, I'd like to ask the forum admin here to allow us to use the PI logo and set link backs to and from the forum.

Clear Skies everyone.

Best regards

Neil.

Hey, Neil, I signed up, see you there! The censorship filter is dialed up a bit high ("cir***stances"??), but otherwise it looks great.

Thanks for joining... We chose a commercial forum software suit since it gives a better user experience! :D The trouble is that there is a bug in their "Bad Word Filter"... We have been promised that this will be fixed in this month so we decided to leave it as it is for now...

Regards

Neil.

This is all that I see:

There appears to be an error with the database.

Yeah, it apparently went down last night, not sure why.

I've joined and have been enjoying it so far. It seems to be a very balanced and reasonable group of astrophotographers, and Neil and I have been talking up PixInsight.

We had a problem with the "Bad Word Filter" in the original forum software 3.4.0... Fortunately there was a fix due in you guess it 3.4.1...

Unfortunately, the automatic upgrade to the new software didn't work and left us with a few issues. Thankfully, IPS has fixed it all now and the forum will be stay at this current revision for sometime to come... At least for the next two years... while we build up our membership.

This weekend we added a "Shoutbox" it a chat client at the top of the forum that allows members to have casual conversations with each other when online. This is the last add on for now unless we really desperately are missing some functionality which I honestly can't see that we are.

Sorry for any inconvenience, your more than welcome to come over an give us a try... We are starting to build up a gallery of some stunning images from all around the world.

Best regards

Neil.
