I just came across a very useful little free utility for Mac OSX users. It's a QuickLook viewer for FITS files:
http://www.softtenebraslux.com/qlfits/For those who don't use QuickLook, it's a built-in Mac utility that allows you to preview a file just by hitting the Space Bar. With this utility installed, you can select a FITS file in the Finder, then hit Space, and see an image preview with FITS Header data as well. If you have PixInsight registered as the FITS file application, then the "Open with PixInsight" button is displayed at the top right of the QuickLook window. There's also a Preference Pane to set some options.
I have no affiliation with this software, but it definitely fills a need for me.
