NGC 346

NGC 356 is called by many the most interesting and beautiful object in the Small Magellanic Cloud.  Interestingly, there are not very many images of it on the web.  It has been done in narrow band by Hubble
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap050118.html .  So here is a collection of 14 hours in Ha and RGB,  processed of course with PixInsight.  Thanks for looking.

Hi Jack

I edited your post to fix the link for the APOD page. The point at the end was causing problems.

You got an excelent image. 14 sounds a lot, but it is a f/11 telescope, right? I cannot imagine how difficult is to use it :) Congratulations.

Now, just to make a little critict. You may use the star's mask to perform a "star shaping" routine. Just apply a soft minimum filter (10%, 3x3 kernel, 7 iterations). You may adjust the mask to just affect the largest stars, wich looks a bit bloated, by using wavelets and histogram changes.

Keep the good job comming! :) Thanks for sharing.
Regards,

Carlos Milovic F.
