Dynamic Alignment work flow question
« on: 2007 October 23 08:27:30 »
Once I get my master R,G, and L frames (standard deviation means) I then put these in PixInsight to build my image.  However the first step is to register them.  The Dynamic Alignment works great but I must be using it wrong as it is cumbersome for me.  I select Lum as Image 1 then select Red for image 2 and do the star selection.  I then either execute with the green checkmark or slide a icon onto the Red frame to execute and get the Red_Registered frame.

Now here is where it gets cumbersome.  To proceed I have to cancel the Dynamic Alignment session via the window that asks if I want to do that, then close Dynamic Alignment.  Then I have to go to process explorer and open another instance of Dynamic alignment to do for the Green frame.

And finally repeat all steps to do the blue frame.

I am probably not using something correctly as this seem too hard.  It would be nice if after executing on the Red frame I could just reset Dynamic Alignment and go on to select stars for the next frame without closing the program and dealing with the window that asks if I want to cancel Dynamic Alignment.

Dynamic Alignment work flow question

Hi Jack

I'm not sure if this works (Juan wrote the process, and I am unable to test this here). Try changing the name of the identified target image. It is located in one of the retractile boxes.

Anyway, I'll tell you my workflow to register several images, with similar locations for the sample stars. I proceed as usual for the first pair, but, before cancelling, I create a new process icon with the instance. Then, I cancel, open a new instance and select the new reference and target images. Now I import all the samples by dragging the process icon and dropping it in the bottom of the DA window. This speeds up things a lot. Now, I activate the tracking option, and set the zoom of both images to 1:1. The last step is to quickly check that the pairs are well located and apply the instance when ready.

Hope this helps.
Regards,

Carlos Milovic F.

Carlos,  Thanks that does work and is quite a bit better than what I was doing.  However I think this process could still be streamlined by not having to close the Dynamic ALign window and re open antoher instance somehow

Changing the name in the drop down does not work BTW.  I was referring to your method.
