La cabeza de bruja (witch head nebula)
« on: 2012 January 05 18:33:30 »
Hi,

I took this image a couple of months ago and yesterday I manage to finally finish it.

The image looks soft cause it was very noisy and I had to apply some aggressive noise reduction. I think is more aesthetically pleasing without the noise.

The processing was all done in PI.

And the processing was very straight forward. No curves at all I don't like them!

Saturation was done using the LRGB combination tool and the star reduction was done using RBA technique (described in his blog)

More details here:

Cheers,

Jose

Jose,

holy cow; man I like that image! The only thing i search is noise ? The noise reduction really works great if there was noise in that picture!!

Just one question:

Why don't you like curves?

Best!
Clear Skies!!

Thanks Lex,

I don't like curves because they are too powerful for me and I always destroy my image when I take the curves path. It is a shame cause the curves implementation in PI is brilliant. Histogram is enough for me.

Cheers,

Jose
