File association with an RGBWorkingSpace?
« on: 2012 January 02 18:44:23 »
Hi,

I have a question about associating a set of RGBWorkingSpace parameters with a specific image file.
On my system, the association does not persist after exiting PixInsight unless I click "Apply Globally".
Is this how its supposted to work?
Does any "Apply Globally" operation write the complete processing history to disk?

How do I write the complete processing history to disk? I just realized, I've never done that, I just
save my image files.

I'm using 1.7.0.0702 on Win7, I haven't installed 1.7.2 yet.

Thanks,
Steve

not sure about your 1st question - i dont know if assigning an RGBWorkingSpace actually does anything to the image other than change it's metadata.

as for the processing history for an image: if you right-click the image and choose "load history explorer", then open the history explorer and drag the triangle icon to the PI workspace, an icon will appear which contains the processing history. selecting that icon and right-clicking will allow you to save the icon ("save selected icons"). that can be reloaded later from the Process menu under "Process Icons".

or, if you save a project, all of the history of each image will be preserved when you re-open the project later in PI.
