Alt + N New preview mode not working

Anything new in an update that changed being able to "draw" a box and use it for a preview to do background neutralization and pressing Alt and the N does nothing I can tell. Try clicking and dragging a box without luck. holding Alt and then N does the same nothing.

Did this command change? How do you draw a "preview" box to apply background neutralization?

Alt + N is working for me, but you can also use the corresponding icon on the toolbar. See the attachment.
