November 2011 Astrophotography Contest Winners
« on: 2011 December 06 03:50:06 »
Greetings to everybody!

We want to thank the six contestants of this month for keeping the high quality in its works, and by the way in this contest. According to the points 8 and 10 of the contest rules, when the number of submitted images is less than seven, the monthly contest can have only a winner.

Congratulations to the winner of this month! We encourage everyone to participate in the PixInsight Monthly Astrophotography Contest and we hope to see everybody in future editions.

Unique Prize — vdB141 (Ghost nebula) in Cepheus by Howard.

This contest's edition has been particullarly difficult due to the low voting difference between three images for only one prize. The contest organizers have considered a less voted image which deserves a special mention for its high quality and beauty. Exceptionally and according to these circumstances, we have three special mentions  in this announcement. Congratulations to the winners of the special mention.

First Special Mention — LBN438 in Lacerta by talbotj.

Second Special Mention — NGC7000 (North America nebula) in Cygnus by Philippe B.

Third Special Mention — NGC2070 (Tarantula nebula) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) by Andrés Vattuone and Alejandro Tombolini.

Clear, dark and steady skies to everybody!
