Lost repository definition and lost modules
« on: 2011 August 26 23:39:40 »
Hello
Today I was retrieving a proyect where I worked with  Georg Viehoever's new Gradients merge mosaic.

My surprise  was viewing these to messages in the console:

** Warning: Skipping unknown interface: GradientsMergeMosaic
** Warning: Skipping unknown interface: GradientsHdrCompression

I then checked the repository definitions, an the following def was missing: http://update-devel.pixinsight.com/

What is there happening? why I am loosing those modules and repository definitions?
worst of all, I then looked into the installed updates, and I found that the modules are installed???
(see image)

I searched into the process menu and process explorer, and the modules are not there.

My last uptade was 31/7/2011 ...
My Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit.

What do I have to do in order to recover (or reinstall) those modules??

Regards
Geert

Hi Geert,

I don't know what is happening with your installation, but if the modules are there, you can easily reinstall them. The most expeditious way is by using the Ctrl backdoor. Just press the Ctrl key and hold it pressed while you launch the PixInsight Core application, then answer yes when a dialog asks you if you really want to reset all PI settings. This will reinstall all existing modules and scripts in your current PI installation. Keep in mind that you'll lose all custom settings (preferences, etc.) you may have if you do this. You'll also have to add the update-devel repository manually.

Thanks Juan  That worded ok.

Is it possible that the previous crash due to my script error could cause this?
