Hi

Here is my interpretation of M31. I have never imaged this object before. Let me know what you think!

Lum 90 minutes 1 x 1
RGB 30 minutes 2 x 2
Ha 10 minutes 2 x 2

Equipment WO FLT 110, Lodestar, EQ6, QSI 583wsg , Maxim DL, Astrodon LRGB filters
Calibrated in Maxim DL, processed in Pixinsight

Nice to see you found clear skys in your area for an excellent image of M31.

Hi Julian,

nice image, but it looks like there's big ringing artifact around the galaxy core. What did you use for HDR compression?

nice image, but it looks like there's big ringing artifact around the galaxy core. What did you use for HDR compression?

I used HDR wavelets, Linear interpolation, 6 layers, 1 iteration, lightness mask, no de-ringing or star mask.

Thanks for that. I have never imaged the M31 before and it is a bit of a jaw dropper when seen for the first time.

Yes, thats one of the main effects of our beautiful hobby, we are seeing jawdropping stuff that "normal humans" can't see  :D
