Hickson 44--Arp 316

Hi All,
My fascination with distorted galaxies led me to this familiar target in Leo. The field includes a plethora of galaxies, the 4 most prominent comprise Hickson 44. The two distorted galaxies in the center of the image are NGC 3190 with it's prominent and distinctive dust lanes, and "S" shaped NGC 3187. These two along with the bright elliptical, NGC 3193 at 3 o'clock are also known as Arp 316. The spiral in the upper left corner is NGC 3185, the 4th member of the Hickson Group. A little over 14 hours of data taken with my RCOS 14.5", a STL 11000, and Astrodon Gen 2 filters. And, of course, processed in PI.

Gosh that is lovely! That RCOS is a fantastic telescope, not to detract from your processing and acquisition skills of course . I have just ordered a Planewave, and I cannot wait.

Oh my Gosh!!
That's a lot of detail; man it's one o'clock in the morning; i am sitting in my observatory trying to image IC5070 with my modest imaging setup
When i look at this masterpiece i see a long long way to go in front of me
Respect!!!
