Start-up message

I have been using PI 1.6 for several months now and it is doing a great job for me as I scramble up the learning curve. I love it!

My query: Every time PI starts up, the last line on the console says: "** No running X11 compositing manager has been detected. Some core GUI functionality will be reduced or unavailable." I have no idea what a X11 compositing manager is.

I have ignored this and have not noticed any reduced functionality, but what do I know? Do I care what this means?

Yesterday I upgraded to 1.7 and still get the same message, if that means anything.

If you run linux you kinda need to know your way around X11. If you'd rather not then Windows and MacOS are better choices
