FIT image is flipped
« on: 2011 January 16 13:10:07 »
My first post and i am using a demo of PI.  I am very impressed with it's power.  DBE is awesome!  I love the GUI.  It makes a lot of sense once you get use to it's rather unorthodox methods.  I think it is far superior to Photoshop.  I will be purchasing a copy.

Thanks to Harry and all the other people that have created tutorials.

I have a quick question.  I stacked some images in Nebulosity and DSS.  The stacked FIT files are flipped vertically when i open them in PI.

I am just curious why the flip?  No big deal to flip them back, just curious.

Thanks!
Chad

the origin of a fits file i guess is configurable in the FITS standard.

open the format explorer tab and double click on the fits icon. there's a pull down menu (under miscellaneous options) that lets you set what corner of the image corresponds to the origin.
