Run PI from USB drive
« on: 2010 December 20 09:42:52 »
I was thinking about make some examples of basic processing for my Astronomy Group using the computer we have. Is it possible to run PI from an USB memory drive?

Have fun!

I guess it should. But, if you are using windows, I would avoid any problems and just install it there, copy my licence, and then remove everything at the end of the day.

You might have more success dumping any registry keys that PI
uses and create a registry script file which will pump them to the
registry and run this from the autorun file in the root directory of
the USB drive. You might want to run a script to delete them though
also, as it's not nice to pollute host machines : ]

You give me some to think about: copy and delete the license archive, leaving the program installed. :-)

Have fun!
