Hi darkownt,

try this :
https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B6hnnBQFEYLVYzc2YjkyZGUtZTBjNy00MmI4LWEyMGMtY2Y2ODRmYmQ5ZDUy&hl=de&authkey=CMXatu0I

It's an old picture of the pleiades, with some optical errors of an 'uptight' maksutov lens.
Few years ago, not processed with PI.
Hope you can access it, it's from google docs.

CS Christoph
Kind regards,
      Christoph

OK, I see. They are having "technical problems".
I will contact Harry !

Hi Colin,

This looks like a very interesting project, just the kind of development works I want to promote and support on the PixInsight platform. Could you elaborate more on your project?

Should you need information or help on PixInsight's development frameworks (PCL, PJSR) I'll be glad to assist you as I can. Please feel free to post your queries to the development forum board.

In line with Harry's initiative, I can also provide a dedicated ftp account on our server for this project. If you think it's necessary, just let me know.

Hi Juan:

Thanks for the encouragement!   :)

I plan on putting together a tutorial styled document outlining the steps and tools to use in PixInsight for extracting PSFs.  I want to make sure I have the steps right for the manual procedure for terrestrial optics, then experiment with methods for astronomical pictures.  After that I'd like to finalize the tutorial document and then look at ways to automatizing/optimizing using PJSR.

I might actually be asking questions in the development forum while working on the document as I get ideas for automating specific steps...

cheers :D
Colin

BTW, you may try to download the files from the M51 cooperative project (it is posted somewhere on the forum). This is excelent data to work with.

Hi Nocturnal:

You wouldn't happen to have that picture in a linear RAW ccd format would you?

cheers

Hi Colin,

this is a linear calibrated stack. You want a single raw (undebayered) light?

Ok, uploaded one:

http://cid-a93625fef5ca95fb.office.live.com/self.aspx/PSF/NGC6596%5E_001.zip

Please be -very- specific about the types of images you want when asking people to upload some for you.
Best,
