Minor Desktop Bug

Juan,

If you double click on the "bare" background of PixInsight and cancel the resulting open file dialog box, the cursor remains in the busy state.

Hi Wade,

I have just quickly checked my Win-64 (Vista) machine on PI v1.6.1 and I do NOT see this happening.

What I DO see is the red 'X' box blinking like crazy if I hover the cursor over it, just prior to clicking it to cancel the unwanted dialogue box. Not a 'bug', just an 'anomally'

Niall,

I'll run a few more tests tonight to see if I can reproduce the behavior.  I did, by accident, draw a small box on the desktop, probably an accidental drag.  Perhaps, while trying to get rid of the box, I double clicked it or near it.  Perhaps, the busy cursor was a result of the accidental box.  How does one get rid of the box?  I'll keep you posted as to what I find out.

Hi Wade,

Well, I have tried all sorts of single and multiple clicking, and everything 'seems' normal to me. Maybe others will see something if they try.

Niall,

I haven't been able to reproduce it either.  I'll watch closely so I can give you a sequence of events that causes it.  I'll let you know once it occurs again.

Niall and Juan,

I was able to reproduce it Today.  Basically, when double clicking a ProcessContainer process icon on the desktop, it sometimes gets confused on whether or not it has been double clicked or dragged.  What happens is the ProcessContainer opens but there's also a "drag-gable" icon moving around with the mouse.  This happens after double clicking the ProcessContainer the second time (i.e. you dismissed it at an earlier time).  It does give some kind of warning when you do this though.  I have to hit the escape key to get rid of the dragging icon.  The busy cursor stays present until I shutdown PixInsight.

I hope this helps.

Wade

Hi Wade,

OK - pending feedback from others (especially Juan), I will try and replicate your scenario when I get back to my (main) PI machine.
