Combining image files
« on: 2010 June 30 13:19:08 »
Hi all,

First let me say how brilliant I have found pi to be in my so far short astro imaging career.

I image using a canon 1000d, modified with the filter removal mod. My plan is to purchase a h alpha filter for my dslr to do some narrowband imaging which I would like to combine with regular rbg image runs from my camera.

My question is what would he best way of achieving this be in pi?

Any help, pointers or advice you may have would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

John

Hi John,

you would do that with the LRGBCombination or ChannelCombination processes. You may first have to split your RGB image into its 3 channels. You can also use pixelmath.

This topic comes up every now and then so it's possible that a search for 'channel combination' gives you some interesting hits.
Best,
