MLT real time preview windows is Black...
« on: 2020 March 04 21:52:55 »
So, I'm just playing with an RGB image (it has been permanently stretched via histogramtransformation tool).  I open up MLT, select linear mask, preview mask and inverted mask and then click on the real time preview button.  Real time preview window opens, but it is completely Black.

What am I doing wrong?

Every tutorial I see on this shows the mask working in the real time preview window...

Very confused!

edit: I think it's cos the image is now non-linear, and MLT is designed for application to linear images...am I correct in my understanding?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi,

Although "MLT" suggests "Linear" images, it can be used very effectively on non-linear images.  Perhaps "Reset" MLT to the default and try without using a Linear Mask and report back.

Interesting.  I actually did try resetting MLT and even closing the tool down and opening it back up, still the same thing.  I'll try it without linear mask and see if it works.  I ended up opening the image in its linear form and the preview/mask worked without issue immediately.

I'll test a bit further.

Thanks for confirming that it does indeed work with non-linear images, that's great to know.

Cheers,

Dave
