Please explain Histogram
« on: 2020 January 21 03:29:35 »
Hi, I am struggling to understand the reason for the histograms when processing  the images. The Lights etc were taken with ZWO294mc TS71 and IDAS LPS p2. The flats were taken with an Aurora Flatscreen.
IS this the effect of the filter and should i color balance the Flat?
Hoping someone can help me understand whats's going on. I am learning PI and processing as I go along.
Thanks
Gaby

Hi,

Have you created the Master_Dark and Master_Flat?  Your workflow should then be ImageCalibration, CosmeticCorrection, Debayer, SubFrameSelector, StarAlignment and then ImageIntegration.  I have a small text document with the basic workflow for DSLR or an OCR camera.  Drop me a mail and I will forward the document to you.  I am sure it will get you started...

Hi John,
Thanks for your time. Yes I did Bias, Dark and Flat masters. The top image is with all three used in calibration and histogram shows narrow tall red curve compared with green and blue channels. The 2nd image is without flat applied and shows 3 peaks of red, green and blue all be it more uniform. Why 3 peaks? I am wondering if it's an effect produced by filter.
I live in a very LP area in Gibraltar.
I would definitely welcome your workflow to get me started. Il send you an email.

Many thanks
Gaby

Hi,
I believe you are using a OSC camera, did you run the Debayer process?
