Blank PI When Back From Hibernate
« on: 2020 January 20 10:45:48 »
I have the latest version of PI:
1.8.8-3 Ripley (x64)

My OS is the latest update of Win10. The last update was to fix a critical security flaw, nothing else.
Edition:   Windows 10 Pro
Version:  1903
OS build: 18362.592

I updated both recently. When in the midst of image processing, I am in the habit of leaving my PI session running when I hibernate the PC for the night. When I come back, PI returns like any other process. Until now. This is the first time that I went through the hibernate/awaken cycle since both updates. When the PC awoke, PI was a blank white screen. I could see the PixelMath process iconized but that was it. When I de-iconized PixelMath, it was also blank. It had the standard Windows banner instead of its custom banner and that banner was unresponsive. F5 did not refresh PI. Nor did iconizing it to the control panel and restoring it from there. My only solution to get the normal PI screen was to kill the PI process and restart it. All the other processes restored from hibernation as always.

Can you reproduce this? If so, is this known and is there an anticipated fix or work-around short of saving sessions before hibernating? I know that changing two variables makes troubleshooting hard but the Win10 update should have had no effect. "Should."
