missing file error
« on: 2019 November 20 11:03:44 »
Hi All,

First post here. I am trying to install PI on my travel laptop. It is a Dell Latitude running Windows 7 Professional. PI loads and installs fine. When I try to open it from the desktop I get an error box reading, "Program can't start because api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll is missing from your computer." I have tried re-downloading PI as the error box suggests (after uninstalling the first instance of PI) and get the same error box. Last night after clicking OK on the error box 3 times it went away and PI seemed to load up, download updates, and begin to perform as it should except it came up as an essentially blank screen. The file, edit, view, etc., bar is not there, the tool icons are missing, and the process console does not come up. How can I get PI to run properly? You will need to be specific (step by step) as I am not very computer savvy. Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

I have seen a similar problem.  Do a "Google" search for "api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll" and find the link to the Microsoft website that will allow you to download and install/register the file in your Windows system. Be aware that there are other sites that advertise the availability or the file, but I would only go to the Microsoft site.
