Pixinsight running slow
« on: 2019 November 20 05:34:51 »
The latest update of PI seems to be running a bit slow. The WBPP script took much longer to run then the original BPP, but since that was a different script, it wasn't a direct comparison. But now I am running DrizzleIntegration and it is running at a fraction of the speed I was used to.

Is there a setting I can change to speed up processes and scripts? Can I allocate more memory to PI? Any other suggestions?

Eric

Hi,

I assume you are running Windoze .... Try this, create the following folders C:/Users/User_Name/AppData/Local/Temp1 and C:/Users/User_Name/AppData/Local/Temp2  and C:/Users/User_Name/AppData/Local/Temp1.  Now in PixInsight go to Edit ---> Global Preferences ---> Directories and Network ---> Swap storage directories ---> Add the three folders you created and the Apply or F6.

That should speed things up a bit.
