Multiple Monitor Support for Mac OS X

I am running Pixinsight v1.8 on a Mac Pro (running Mac OS 10.14.6 Mojave) with two 27" monitors. However, I cannot get Pixinsight to stretch across both monitors. Is this functionality not supported in Pixinsight for Mac OS or is there a trick to get this to happen?

Nobody has any input on this question? Does Pixinsight just not support going across multiple monitors on Mac OS X?

I am on iMac and use multi-screens. When you say stretch across two screens are you saying the a single window is half on one screen and half on the second screen?

I wasn't aware this could be done on any program, it certainly doesn't on any of my three systems.

You can have the main working space on one screen and process pop-ups on the second screen just as you can do on Photoshop, but as far as I am aware that is all.

I have two 23" monitors on my Mac Pro (now on Catalina) and I regularly bring up PI on it's own Desktop and stretch it across a whole monitor and about half of the other ... I didn't do anything specific OS/settings wise to allow for this?

No, I can set View->Full Desktop and drag the main window across the two monitors so that the main window fills both monitors, but as soon as I let go of the mouse it only shows up on one monitor. I can have pop-up windows for processes showing up on the second monitor, but I can't have two image windows one on one monitor and one on another.

i think that might be normal behavior? i just tried to drag firefox to my 2nd monitor and it spans while i'm dragging the mouse but when i let go it stays on my left screen (but truncated) unless i've dragged more than 50% to the other monitor.

as far as i know PI has always worked as dave describes, process windows can live on the second monitor but the main window can only be on one or the other.

Ok, I think when in full desktop top (assuming click the green dot window widget is equivalent to View->Full Desktop) that's the behavior.

What I do is NOT to have PI in full desktop mode, but instead manually adjust the size by dragging corner/sides and in this scenario I can have PI spanning both monitors ...

I am at the office now but can add screen shots when I get home ...

OK that does not solve the problem for, my systems still operate as Rob outlined above.......I have a 27" monitor on a 21" system so I wonder if that is causing the problem for me.....

Yes it does work, follow the instructions in that article above, BUT you have to reboot the system, or log out, for it to take effect.....now I can span across two screens LOL

And it works on PixInsight as well......

yeah, i was going to mention that i run TotalSpaces and like to keep my monitors separate... so that could have something to do with the behavior i see. sounds like it is the reason...
